The first weekend was rainy but by Monday the weather turned into perfect spring break weather. Very spontaneously Heath decided to go to the zoo. Well, so did the rest of Houston! The parking lots were closed because they were full and we circled for 30 minutes until we were finally let in to park. Once inside the zoo it was big enough to not feel crowded so we had an enjoyable day. The kids had a blast and were troopers with all the walking!

Spring Break
Ok so I have been slacking on getting updates on here. Thing have been busy with Caleb's birthday and my parents coming into town last weekend. I have been wanting to get some pictures on here from spring break because we did so much, so I am finally sitting down to update.

This was an albino alligator. It is hard to tell by the picture.
Tuesday we stayed around the house and the kids enjoyed the spring weather and played outside most of the day. Because of the cold and rainy experience we had at the rodeo the previous week, we decided to go back on Wednesday to do the carnival and horse show. Plus it was value day at the rodeo and the kids got in free and parking was only $5 (We are all about bargains these days! We even packed our lunch!) We went to the horse arena first and went around to see the horses and even visited a little with one of the owners that was getting ready to show. It was really interesting to see all the things they do to make a horse look better. It was like watching those moms whose daughters are in pageants. Then we watched some of the horse competitions in the arena. We spent the rest of the time at the carnival before heading home so the kids could go to gymnastics.

Thursday we had a play date at the park and then they spent the night at Gamma's house and spent the day with her Friday. Saturday we worked in the yard and then did our annual trip to the bluebonnets (I am leaving that for another post!) Sunday was Caleb's birthday and he bounced out of bed ready for his presents so we indulged him because we knew he would be thrilled! All he had asked for was Mario Cart for the Wii...
so that is what he got and we surprised him with another remote so that he and daddy can race each other. He also got to go onstage in kid's church to dance for his birthday which surprisingly he did. He requested Chili's for his birthday lunch where we met some friends and then we had some friends from gymnastics over for dinner that night. It was a great day celebrating his birthday!
