Field Day

Last Friday Caleb had Field Day at school. It was supposed to be the previous Friday when Grammy and Grampa were here, but it was cancelled because of rain, so we were a little bummed they couldn't be there. This particular Friday turned out perfect, sunshine and upper 70's. I even got a little sunburned! Each class was a team and they competed against each other in typical relays like running with a bean bag, the three-legged race, filling a soda bottle up with water from a can that has holes in it, etc. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed cheering and getting riled up with the other parents from our class!

This was Caleb's least favorite, the beach relay, because he thought everyone laughed at how silly they looked!

They also had individual challenges that the kids were chosen for in PE, like the 40 yard dash and the balloon toss. Caleb was in the hula hoop competition and did a great job. There is a video at the end of this post of it.

They got to take a couple breaks and enjoy some water in the shade.

The first video was one of the only relays we won and boy were we screaming for that one! Of course in the end they said it was too close to call and said we tied but the whole side of parents knew we crossed that line first! The second video is of Caleb hula hooping. All in all it was a great day and the kids had fun. I was so proud of Caleb for not getting discouraged when they lost and for cheering other kids on! That is what it is all about!
