Strawberry Picking

Anyone in the mood for some freshed picked strawberries? Last Friday Grammy and I took Elizabeth out to King's Orchard to pick strawberries. The day was perfect because it was overcast and the sun wasn't beating down on us.
We had our boxes and loaded up a wagon they provided and made our way out to the orchard. They also had some broccoli and lettuce we could have picked and were in the process of planting tomatoes. In June we can go back and pick blueberries and in late summer, figs.

The patch was quite large but unfortunately a lot of the strawberries were rotten because of all the rain we'd had.
Elizabeth enjoyed finding the good ones and filling up her box. She wanted hers as full as ours.
These were our boxes when we finished (could have picked lots more but watching the budget!) and Grammy picked a box as well. The strawberries were deliciously sweet and we enjoyed strawberry shortcake all weekend! We can't wait to go back!
Just wanted to throw in an adorable picture of Elizabeth from Sunday before church. She looks adorable in hats but won't ever wear them. This week she agreed and she was precious!
